We have smart phones, smart watches, smart speakers, smart gardens (yes, there’s such a thing), and now, smart glasses. The new eyewear technology has gained ground in recent months with Ray Ban Stories, the classic sunglass company, entering the fray with their partners, FaceBook. If you want hands-free capability to take pictures and videos as well as listen to music and phone calls, then SmartGlasses may be your thing.
Ray Ban’s glasses have a dual 5-megapixel camera that offers depth and dimension to the high-resolution photos (2592×1944 pixels). You can also take quality videos with the camera at 30 frames per second (1184×1184 pixels) with the touch of a button on the eyeglass arm. But that’s not all! You can play music, podcasts, or take phone calls from the open-ear speakers. If you’re so inclined, you can post to your social media account — all from your glasses! The smart tech is available with Ray Ban’s Wayfarer, Round, and Meteor frames in a variety of colors (glossy black, blue, brown, olive, or matte black).
The lenses themselves are available as prescription lenses, too. Clear lenses filter out UV rays and blue light, while the sunglass lenses come in four different colors using the Transitions® lens technology that adapts between clear and G-15 Green in changing light conditions, for day to night use, according to the Ray Ban website.
Charging the SmartGlasses involves putting them into a portable eyeglass case so that you can charge them as you go.
If you’re interested in the next wave of wearable technology, All About Eyes has you covered! We offer Ray Ban frames at our shop and can make prescription lenses to suit your needs.
